Last night we were treated to an amazing concert by our talented young musicians in a dazzling Winter Concert at the Caird Hall.
Pupils from L4 upwards took to the stage to wow the audience with renditions of a whole range of pieces performed by groups including the L4/5 and L6/7 Choirs, the Boys and Girls Choirs, the Pipe Band, the Symphonic Band, Sinfonia, and the Symphony Orchestra.
Various pop and rock numbers were featured, including Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, and medleys of songs used in John Lewis’s Christmas adverts since 2007.
A number of festive favourites and traditional numbers were also performed, before the evening concluded with a complete performance of Joseph Haydn’s exhilarating Symphony No.104, specifically composed for British audiences.
The event was held in aid of CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young), a charity which aims to prevent the twelve young sudden cardiac deaths which occur in the UK each week through awareness, screening and research, and supporting affected families.
Well done to everyone involved!
