Playground Project

Enhancing our playground

Sensitively transforming an iconic space

After thoughtful planning and collaboration, we are launching the first phase of an initiative that aims to transform the front playground at our city centre campus.

For the past few years, we have been formulating plans to enhance this space and we are now taking the first steps to make it a more modern vibrant and functional space for our pupils and whole community.

A project group, led by Mr Alan Patterson (SLT) and Mr Pete Grewar (Board), with the support of staff, parents, and Architect, Jon Frullani, has been working hard to outline some concepts for a playground that will better serve our community. We are also incredibly grateful to our Parents’ Association, who have been fundraising for this project through several events. The success of the inaugural Euclid Ball 2024 raised significant funds, and we are excited to see how the fundraising from the Euclid Ball 2025 will continue to build on this momentum.

Phase 1

Playground Project

Phase 1 of the plans will focus on upgrading the West side of the playground, closest to the Margaret Harris Building. This phase is set to be completed by the start of Session 2025-26, pending planning permission approval. This first phase includes:

Surface Upgrade: an area of the playground will feature a new, “knee-friendly” wet pour surface, designed for comfort and safety.

New Equipment: A variety of exciting playground equipment will be installed to spark creativity and outdoor play.

Greening the Space: We plan to plant a hedge along the entire perimeter of the playground. We plan that the community will have the opportunity to participate in planting this hedge, contributing to the ‘greening’ of the front of the school.

Following Phase 1, Phase 2 plans will be unveiled at a later date.

Gift Aid

I confirm I have paid or will pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for each tax year (6 April to 5 April) that is at least equal to the amount of tax that all the charities or Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs) that I donate to will reclaim on my gifts for that tax year. I understand that if I pay less income tax in the current tax year than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all of my donations it is my responsibility to pay any difference. I understand that other taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify. I understand the charity will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that I give or have given in the last four tax years.

Don't Forget to Send Us Your Gift Aid Form

On our giving forms, there is the option to tick a box to confirm that you wish to include Gift Aid with your donation. The Gift Aid Scheme enables the school to claim tax relief on all donations made by UK taxpayers, automatically increasing the value of your gift by 25% and at no additional cost to you! You can find a Gift Aid Declaration Form below.
