We are thrilled to serve up an exciting development at the High School of Dundee.
Today we opened our brand-new dining facility, allowing us to bring our pupils together for fantastic food in a purpose-built space right in the heart of our school!
Previously the School’s dining hall had been located a very short walk away within one of the buildings of our neighbours, Abertay University.
From now on however, pupils from L4 upwards will enjoy lunch in a wonderful refurbished social area adjacent to the back playground, which is connected to and served by a newly created kitchen.
In tandem with the recently refreshed L1-3 dining area and the tasty grab-and-go offerings available from The Pod, it’s a move which enables us to bring top-quality catering provision fully on-site within fantastic, fresh settings.
Rector Lise Hudson said, “This is a move which will bring pupils together and build our sense of community right in the heart of our city centre campus.”
Further redevelopment of additional social areas will also take place over the summer, enhancing the spaces which our young people have available for a range of purposes.
Sheena Leadbitter, Chair of the High School of Dundee Foundation which helped to fund the development, cut the ribbon to mark the official opening. As she did so she was joined by Mrs Hudson, Deborah Burnside from the School’s catering providers Aramark, the School’s former Facilities Manager Grzegorz Bankowski, Chief Operating Officer Sonya Locherty, and Board Member David Cheape.
