Anne, also known as Annie to close friends and family, attended the High School of Dundee at the same time as her many siblings, including James, Mary, Alex, Estelle, Marjorie and Nigel. They were following in the footsteps of a family tradition as their father Alex had also attended the school.
Anne reflected that she did not enjoy the academic subjects whilst at the school, but greatly enjoyed her time at the Girl Guides. After leaving the school, she went on to study at secretarial college.
In 1962, she married Ian and they had a family together. When her youngest son was diagnosed with leukaemia, she set up a local self-help group for leukaemia sufferers and their families. She spent her time volunteering, supporting other parents, fund raising and giving talks to doctors as well as at schools.
Anne is survived by her husband, her three children and three grandchildren, including Steven who is a current pupil at the school.
