Congratulations to our team of budding investors on securing 2nd place in the Growing Future Assets competition!
Mariella, Nellie, Tess, Emma, Holly and Eilidh impressed the judges at the grand-final at Martin Currie Investment with a high-quality pitch which drew together superb research and analysis on the company Energy Recovery.
There were 167 entries from more than 80 schools across Scotland in this year’s contest, so 2nd place overall is a fantastic achievement and a wonderful return on the time invested by the girls!
A big thank you goes to Melissa Hope, Chief Executive, Nuclear Liabilities Fund, who acted as a mentor to the team.
Following the final, the girls had the chance to meet fellow competitors and investment professionals at a reception at Edinburgh City Chambers and Head of Business Education, Neil Higgins, says the entire contest has proved enormously beneficial.
“I am immensely proud of the team,” he said. “They worked incredibly hard to produce an amazing presentation highlighting why they would invest in Energy Recovery.
“In the course of the competition the girls have developed and enhanced crucial skills like presenting, team-work and research that will serve them very well in the future.”
